Adding an ignore list feature to audiogon

Some other forums have an ignore list feature, which I think could be quite helpful and useful here. It allows each individual member to create an ignore list. This is a list of other members whose posts that individual does not wish to see. When members on the list post, it will show that they posted, but the text of their post will not be be displayed. The posts are only hidden for that member, they will show up like normal for all other members (unless they also have the poster on their ignore list)

I believe adding this feature would help reduce conflict and controversy, while still allowing everyone to post freely. It would also make the moderators' job easier. I'm not sure if the forum software audiogon uses supports this feature, but, if it does, they should definitely look into implementing it.

Could not agree more Re mahgister. A real gentleman with a perspective on music (art) and the place that it can occupy in our personal "spheres" that is refreshing and not found often enough in discussions here. Re the OP:

Not having read through all the posts, and not meaning offense to anyone and their opinions, my first reaction was that this is one of the silliest things that I have read proposed here; and one that, ironically, contains the answer to the "problem" in the wording of the very OP:

IGNORE!!! Ignore the provocative (to you) posts and don’t take the bait. Moreover, what is provocative to one may not be provocative to others.  So, what does one "do" with posts that are reactions to those by the poster that we blocked, but where not blocked by others? Sometimes controversy leads to truth.

Eat salmon! Fatty fish is known to thiken one’s skin 😊.

I actually thought the idea of giving individual members the ability to hide posts they don't want to see would be relatively non-controversial🙄
