Audio/Video Rack

I am looking to replace my current A/V furniture with an A/V rack. My goal is to: 1. better control vibration, 2. Make cable/component changes easier, and 3. not have to move a gigantic piece of furniture this summer. I investigated Townshend products but they are a bit out of my price range. I'd like to stay in the $500 or less range for new or used.
Take a look at Atlantis' Reference series product line. Their A/V rack fits your description and is in your price range as well. Their importer's Web site is located at Another link that might be helpful is Here you'll find links to a variety of manufacturers. Good luck.
I know they'd seem out of range, but my brother just picked up a Lovan Sovereign rack off of a place in Branden/Bradenton, Fl off the web for $415 with 5 shelves, I know the place sells all Lovan and they drop ship direct from the factory. At this price, it'd be very hard to beat! Hell, as soon as I move into my new condo, I'm getting one for my home theater! They are possibley the coolest looking rack, and the trisolation system is killer for stopping vibration, and you can fill them with sand/shot to increase the weight even more! Sorry I don't have the exact name of the place, but you can E-mail me and I'll get it for you.
Does anyone have any experience with the Standesign 4 or 5 shelf audio racks? They are available around $250-350 new.
Forget buying a rack when you can build a superb one on the cheap. I built a modified TNT Flexi-Table that holds over 300lbs of equipment and only cost about $120. Lots of mass, vibration control, and you pick the finish...who can ask for more. Very simple again if you are interested and I will go into more detail. Good luck.
Michael Green Designs has the justarack and deluxe justarack as well as some designer jobs. Smaller ones, especially used, will fit your budget. By the way, I want to know more about Osclib's modified TNT FlexTable. Regards.
