Bluesound

Received the latest Node update,and now amazon hd won't load on it anymore. It just searches for the music with no results. Emailed Bluesound and they said it need to be fixed  but it's been a month now and nothing. Hate having a $600 bluetooth receiver. Anybody having the same problem?

You’d think they woulda beta tested this pretty major function before rolling out the update.  Sorry, must be very frustrating.  I guess the lesson is don’t do future updates until they’ve been out for a couple months.  Hope it gets fixed soon.

Yes. I got the same reply from Bluesound. Very annoying. A workaround is to use the Amazon Music app to add what you want to your library. Then it may show up in "My Music" on BluOs.

I had an existing Quboz trial about to end so I extended it a month. I may not go back to AMHD. It’s only $3/mo.difference and sounds great. Once you start a free trial you can transfer your library and playlists for free.

@mashif I had a full AMHD subscription along with Qobuz, and I found the sound quality of Qobuz to be superior to Amazon but the difference was so meaningful that I found myself wondering if I was hearing the full HD recordings on Amazon. How do the two compare for you? I preferred Amazon’s interface and search function, but the lower sound quality was a deal breaker for me so curious what you found.

@soix

I've been streaming since around 2010 and when HiRez became available I started trials of all 3 services offering it. I thought Quboz sounded best but at that time they had an inexplicable limit on playlist size of 100 songs and that was a deal breaker for me. I thought AMHD sounded better than Tidal so I went with it.

More recently, partly prompted by you (and Quboz changing that playlist restriction), I did another Q and A comparison. I thought AMHD was more transparent on the high end but it was very close.

When this BluOs issue surfaced, I switched over and did notice it was easier to get lost in the music with Quboz. The slight reduction in sparkle was actually quite nice on vocals, making for a smoother if less crystalline sound.

While price was never an issue, I appreciate AMHD for the competition and I'll probably stay with Quboz. Since I access them through BluOs the interface is very similar.
