I would think a Diapason module would be the best choice and a Hawk module second best. Could you put enough space between the module and the TV to eliminate the magnetic field problem? Or perhaps mount the module on the wall or suspend it from the ceiling?
If these are no go options then I would suggest speakers with omni type radiation patterns like the Shahinian. Mirage makes the Omnisat in the $250 range. For more money, perhaps a German Physiks omni driver could be used. Probably difficult to do but perhaps an older Ohm Walsh could be modified into a smaller box that would fit on the TV.
Anyway you slice it, this won't be easy. I can tell you one of the larger Paradigm center channels sounded bad with the Shahinians. I haven't heard any box speakers do as well with vocals as the Diapasons. I suspect allowing voice mostly through the center will detract from the sound you are used to. A Quad 988 might do the trick but of course size would not allow it.
