Dallas Texas High End?

Will be in Texas next week and was wandering if there where any shops near Dallas to check out? Not sure I will have enough time to shop, dream, etc. but might as well have a plan just in case. Thanks for any input.

Thsalmon beat me to it. Audio Insight and Audio Concepts are also at the top of my list. Both have nice stuff, and good listening rooms, although i get do mixed treatment at Audio Concepts, but hat maybe because I am young. Hillcrest HiFi is mostly Home Theater, and they do have the worst listening rooms ever. For sort of a sideshow experience you could go to Tweeter Etc. on Park and 75. You can stroll by their Car Stereo room as you head towards the the rooms featuring Martin Logan and Vienna Acoustics and Sanus Faber all powered by nothing less than B&K, and all sharing rackspace with a Bose CD player thing (with a sold sign on it). It is Las Vegas surreal. Have fun in the Big D.
Thanks for all the responses guys. Hopefully time will permit a visit to some of these shops. At the risk of going a little off topic how about some good o'l Texas Eating joints? Steak/BBQ you know the stuff :) I will be in Grapevine Texas to be exact.
Hello, my name is Don E. Golis..My background is 45 years doing analog work. I also perform vacuum tube high voltage work. My background is going on 48 years this year in March.Retired as an engineer, last company was STMicroelectronics, before that I.B.M. I also contacted for I.B.M. as a professional builder of secret products for eleven years. I am in Dallas now going on fourteen years. I also perform high quality vacuum tube service, and chassis clean-up. Retired as I am, I am going crazy with not enough to do. I have a small group of loyal customes whom I do all their chassis work, and am a dealer in a few choise products. As a collector of most of the great classics (vacuum tube) (110 chassis's) I have been a bench tech since about 16 years old and have done work for Frank Sinatra, Leonard Berstein, Dorothy Rodgers (of Rogers and hammerstein, and a host of others which would take me too long to type. I have all my documentaion from the substrate, and semiconductor industry, including ALL performance reviews. My industry resume is very long and I would reccommend a sit down meeting if you are at all interested in meeting me. Problem is I retire at 58 and now will be turning 64 in March of this year. athank you for your time in reading this E-Mail, and hope that you will want to meet with me. I am going crazy with not much to do. I am also a collector of most of the great vacuum classics here. (110 chassis's) All Work is performed my me, except I do not do solid state, or R.F. (tuner work) Dan DiAgostio, Joseph Grado, Audio Classics knows me for over 35 years now. Analog is back like never before, and I am capable of running this operation for you..Thank You for taking the time to read my E-Mail..Sincerely Yous, Don E. Golis (AudioWorkshop) I am from Bronx, New York, and have been in Texas noe for forteen years. I need something to do as I am going crazy because I am so used to being so busy all my life. I can bring with me ALL my Technical reviews from STMicro Electronics, plus service time in the United States Army. Thank You very much once again..Don E. Golis
Definitely check out Audio Concepts. Ask for Bryon, he is the most knowledgeable salesperson in there. And it has indeed been many years since Hillcrest HiFi was very good, audio-wise. They are mostly home theater now, though they may still have some good audio equipment - haven't been in there in a long time. For sure go to Audio Concepts first. Also, SoundMindAudio does not have an actual Dallas location, he comes up from Austin. As far as I know, he is mostly not in business anymore, other than trying to sell off the remainder of what he has in stock.
