Edgy Trip Hop Recommendations

New to the genre. Can someone provide some recommendations? I've come up with some things I like (Thievery Corp.) by virtue of listening to Pandora but I'm sure there is a lot mroe out there.
triosk, hird, koop : newer stuff from scandinavia. also look at the whole ESL library (Thievery Corp's label). older japanese stuff: mondo grosso, united future organization. also check out stuff from UK dj giles peterson. cheers!
I second Portishead, Tricky and Massive Attack. I would add Morcheba who had at least a couple of great Trip Hop LPs. Check out "Trigger Hippie" by Morcheba.
Here are some of my favorites from someone who has listened to this stuff from the beginning:
Massive Attack-Mezzanine
Peace Orchestra-Peace Orchestra
Kruder & Dorfmeister-The K&D Sessions
The Sabres Of Paradise-Haunted Dancehall
DJ Shadow-Endtroducing
Mo' Wax Records stuff from 93-98 esp. those Headz comps
Luke Vibert-Big Soup
Wagon Christ-Throbbing Pouch
Nightmares On Wax-Smoker's Delight
DJ Krush-Strictly Turntablized
Depth Charge-Nine Deadly Venoms
DJ Food-Recipe For Disaster
Fila Brazillia
I like a new band out of the UK called Burial. Hard to find in vinyl but well worth seeking out. Has a very nocturnal feel to it, like driving around the inner city at 2:00 am in the morning. One of the better 2008 "finds" in my collection.

As already posted, Massive Attack's "Blue Lines" set the template for this music and Portishead's "Dummy" followed in its path. Both our essential CDs to have in your collection.

Nitin Sawhney has produced some nice mid decade work that also stands out. I especially like "Prophesy."
