This has been around for several years. I have used it on a Luxman PD444 and an SP10 MkII, both with copper platters. I compared it to a Stillpoints LPI. The Platter Ground works well and does about the same thing as the LPI at reduced cost. The improvement is most pronounced with thinner LPs. There is little improvement with 200gm records-- suggesting that a thicker LP does a better job of damping vibration than a thin one.
Has anybody tried the Star Sound Tech-Platter Ground?
If you are familiar with Star Sound Technogies mainly focus on spikes and stands. They now have a record weight “The Platter Ground” with a different approach to other record weights. I am curious if anyone has tried one and what table did you use it on? Mine is a Rega R10 and I am interested also if a Rega spindle bearing can support much weight, if anyone has knowledge of Rega tables, please chime in.
Thank you
