I don't have your answer, sorry. The standard tuning of a four-string double bass would have the lowest string tuned to 41.2 hz (E1). How low on the Rossini String Sonatas Argo ZRG 506
In addition to being great performances of four of the six Rossini string sonatas (1,3,5 and 6), it also seems that this LP features material for the double bass that goes well into the lower registers of that instrument. In that regard, it serves as something of a test record for those of us whose speakers (Cornwalls, for me) are often criticized as lacking in low bass. Does anyone know how deep the bass goes on these pieces?
