Eag618 John is at the store Tuesday through Saturday. He’s receiving phone calls at the store. He recently stated on Facebook that his business during the last four weeks has been down 16%. He’s doing a lot of business over the phone. He mentioned that his top two sellers during the close down were TT’s and phono stages. I’ve been doing business w/John for over 25 years. He's the best. |
@luxmancl38 He mentioned that his top two sellers during the close down were TT’s and phono stages. Interesting, and I suspect this says something about the demographics of those most into vinyl (teens of the 80s and 90s). They should in general be more financially stable than younger folks. I found this snippet from a recent 2019 article: Teens of the 1980s (now aged approximately 45 to 54) and the ‘90s (now aged approximately 35 to 44) were the two largest age demographics buying vinyl in 2018, accounting for 24 and 21 per cent respectively of new vinyl sales in the U.S., according to 2018 data from the RIAA. |
