Magico Customer service

Is it considered to be good to include second hand speakers? Service provided on out of warranty products says a lot about a company. Thanks for any opinions.

Kenjit, Magico have probably read some of your posts and want nothing to do with you and your superior audiophool skills. By the way, what model Aiwa system do you listen to?
as a diy speakerbuilder, i always look at how a commercial loudspeaker is designed and manufactured. Magico's engineering and use of materials has been "next level" since they first entered the market.  but customer service is huge for someone laying down that much money for a high end product.  I never had to deal with any hifi customer service before except for Welborne Labs but they went out of business.  all companies should strive for top notch customer service.  i bet Mcintosh has great customer service since they have been around for decades.  the appeal to that company is probably more than just those blue VU meters.
creditingkarma,

I have heard the Rockport many times and even owned a pair way back then. Lovely speakers, but ultimately a bit too ‘soft’ for my preferences.
BTW, the most impressive part of the A5 is the midrange. The bass is excellent, but the midrange is a game-changer.
Interesting that you mention value; you will have to spend $170K with Rockport to get the A5 driver compliment in an aluminum enclosure 😉
Henry,

There is no comparing the A5 to the Lyra. The Lyra enclosure is way above the A series or even the M series in my opinion. The damping within the two aluminum enclosures is really incredible. I actually find the Rockport MDF enclosures to be more dead than the A or S series.

At the end of the day both companies make incredible speakers.
creditingkarma,
It not about how "dead" the cabinet feels, it’s about how stiff it is while not ringing. All Rockport enclosures, up to the Lyra, are not rigid enough. That is why they sound soft. The Lyra enclosure is indeed impressive, but the value proposition is poor. I get 95% of what it offers in the A5.
