I failed to research the Mac MT-2 table before I posted above. Scratch the part about the meters. I was confusing the MT2 with the MT 10. I would still buy Clearaudio TT instead of the Clearaudio mfg. McIntosh.
The Clearaudio Performance DC with their Satisfy Carbon arm lists for a bit under $5000.00. The turntable has Clearaudio’s ceramic shaft in sintered bronze bushing and magnetic levitation to support the platter instead a thrust bearing. Fewer moving parts means a quieter table. It also has other technical advantages over the Mac table.
The ClearAudio Performance DC table plus their Tracer tonearm running a Kiseki Purple Heart cartridge sounds pretty fantastic in my Manley Labs/VTL/Vandersteen system.
This engineer's sensibility highly recommends the ClearAudio Tracer tonearm!
