Forget about the xl100 ,the xl 200 sound very good to me ,almost bought a pair before purchasing focal 1038 be’s .plus you can get a very good deal on them as well around 6-7.orig. 20 k new ,they play loud and also sound excellent at low to med, volume levels.
Although the aesthetics of the McIntosh speakers are not to my taste, they compare well with other speakers in their price range. The McIntosh of today is not your fathers McIntosh. As good as McIntosh sounded in the 60 and 70's, they are leaps and bounds better sounding today of all their products including their speakers.
