Please Make Audiogon Cool

Taking myself to task, I've realized that the only cool people here are the ones who haven't responded.

making Audiogon cool. Sigh.

Audiogon will never be cool if we ignore the snake oil charlatans that frequent these pages, that say bench test and measurements don’t matter, and say thing like "a 300b SE will sound magic into those Wilson Alexia’s" and "it’s the way the mains fuse direction is", or "what color fuses is better" ect ect ect.
Once this voodoo bull shit stops, only then will it become a cool place, as then there won’t be much conflict.

There are thousands and thousands of facts on this forum and if you haven’t found any in your two days here, then it must be deliberate. This isn’t a scientific forum, where studies and facts are presented for peer review. This isn’t a legal forum, where depositions are taken under sworn oath and lawyers file writs and claims. This also isn’t the place to come to for information on how to care for aquarium fish, or how to grow cucumbers. If you’re looking for any of those things, you’re in the wrong place.

The thing is not all nonsense, disinformation and bad behavior violates the stated forum rules, so can’t rely on that alone. In fact a lot more does NOT than does. There are no rules that cover nonsense and disinformation in particular. That’s trickier and not sure anyone would want that level of censorship even if it could be done correctly so its up to all good citizens to help make for a better place.

A glance over erik_squires’ threads will reveal that he must be a person of broad ulterior motives. Topics range from specific speaker material to making audiogon cool.
