Preamp:...Add A Pass-Through For Home Theater

I have a DAC/preamp that I'm using for 2-channel.  I'd like to use the front speakers in this setup for my home theater...but there is no designated home theater pass-through in the DAC/preamp.  Can I use/designate a pair of RCA inputs from the DAC/preamp and route them to the Left and Right front channel inputs on the processor?  I'd really like to not have another separate two front speakers in this setup.

@mitch4t  - Yes you can! Just set the volume control on the 2-channel system to a known position, like top dead center, when you are running HT and when you run the setup routing on the HT processor. Always set the volume control back to that known position whenever using that input for the HT system and you'll be good to go...

Good luck! Let us know how it works for you.

@reubent  ....THANK YOU!!

I kinda figured that would get it done...I looked on the back of my main 2-channel preamp that has a built-in pass through included in the design and guessed this would be the way to do it.

Thank you for such a speedy reply, I really appreciate it.

If your preamp has a good quality volume control there's really no need for a home theater bypass. @reubent is correct.

rebuent is right on setup wrong on volume  you use an spl meter and set the vol on the fronts dac preamp to match the other channels.
