Nanci was always in my rotation back in the 90s. I still enjoy her sweet songs. Not only did she write good, relatable songs, she turned me on to a lot of great songs by others. I knew Townes Van Zandt's music, but Nanci's version of Tecumseh Valley got me into him much more. Her cover of Sweet Dream's Will Come, brought John Stewart to my attention. Sad to lose such a good soul.
Yeah-- my sense is that she would've made a great contribution just by being alive, simply due to who she was as a person, whether or not she'd been a performing artist.
