Songs That Sound the Same

I was in the gym today, and bless them, they play different musical genres from time to time. They were playing 60's music and an old Tom Jones song, "Delilah" came on. I noticed immediately that most of it sounded amazingly similar to Fastball's "The Way". My kids and I like to find songs that sound similar, such as:

Tom Jones "Delilah" and Fastball "The Way"
Steve Miller Band "Take the Money and Run" and The Spin Doctors "Little Miss Can't be Wrong"
Elvis Costello "Pump it Up" and The Escape Club "Wild Wild West"
Intro to The Cars "Just What I Needed" and The Ohio Express "Yummy Yummy Yummy"
ELO "Ma-Ma-Ma-Belle" and Mott the Hoople "Jerkin' Crocus"
Of course, George Harrison "My Sweet Lord" and The Chiffons "He's So Fine" (Harrison lost a plagarism lawsuit over that one.)
Intro to The Who "Pinball Wizard" and The Shocking Blue "Venus"

I am sure there are many others. Any ideas? Thanks.

Dominic Behans "The Patriot Game" and Bob Dylans "With God on our Side"

What an interesting post. Your George Harrison/Chiffons analogy is a good one.

The 1975 power ballad 'All By Myself' by Eric Carmen and Sergei Rachmaninoff's piano concerto no. 2 in c minor , opus 18. I didn't find this out until the mid 80's while listening to Rachmaninoff.
