SOTA Sapphire aquired

Picked up a SOTA Sapphire few weeks ago with a Souther SLA-3 linear arm & Monster Cable (Accuphase) Alpha 1 LOMC cart. No power supply and cover was damaged. managed to make a PS,  SOTA sent me a hinge attachment, I patched it up the cover till I can get one made.Got it set up and playing. Very pleased.

Got the table leveled, I read through the Souther manual (actual had literature for the table, arm & cart), not the easiest arm to set up. Made sure things were correct. Figured a way to get my digital gauge under the cart. The cart was set at 1.95g (recommended 2g) so I let that be. Sounded great. Definitely different from my full auto Yamaha PX-3 table.
Yep the Souther rewards a very very level table and meticulous setup :-)...

ya man, @bdp24 i hoped somebody would get the musical reference.....

listening to Lyle in honor of Roger today....

@tomic601, have you seen Lyle live? Oh, man, is he great. I saw him with his Large Band, with Russell Kunkel on drums. Whatta band!

Roger knew a lot about music. In an email, I was telling him about all the guys I had worked with who had died in the past few years (not knowing he was about to), and my inclusion of Evan Johns elicited a query from Roger of "You mean of Evan Johns & The H-Bombs?" I was impressed; you have to be pretty heavy into music to know about Evan.

I have seen Lyle, a true revelation and perhaps only eclipsed by him and John Hiatt on a stage taking alternating requests from a reverential, quiet, appreciative audience.... in a great hall on Saint Patty’s day, Lyle in a mint green wool suit..., freakin amazing
Got a nice early Christmas present. When I got off work I saw the record store owner where I bought the SOTA had texted me. Seems the fellow that sold him the SOTA came buy with some parts for it & the arm & cart. Had the Souther box & the Sapphire power supply. Yea. Checked what was there, thanked owner, bought a couple of records and headed home. The table power supply is missing the toggle switch button. Had the bag of lead shot and to weight posts. Had the missing hinge socket. Had the tracking alignment gauge and extra arm weights and other parts. Had the original arm packing list. Had the Monster cart holder & some of the mounting hardware. Have to figure something for the PS button, will check with Donna if one is available. Yes, a nice Christmas present indeed Pics are added to thread link in first post.
