Tekton Double Impacts

Anybody out there heard these??

I have dedicated audio room 14.5x20.5x9 ft.  Currently have Marantz Reference CD/Intergrated paired to Magnepan 1.7's with REL T-7 subs.  For the vast majority of music I love this system.  The only nit pick is that it is lacking/limited in covering say below 35 hz or so.  For the first time actually buzzed the panel with an organ sacd. Bummer.  Thought of upgrading subs to rythmicks but then I will need to high pass the 1.7's.  Really don't want to deal with that approach.

Enter the Double Impacts.  Many interesting things here.  Would certainly have a different set of strengths here.  Dynamics, claimed bottom octave coverage in one package, suspect a good match to current electronics.

I've read all the threads here so we do not need to rehash that.  Just wondering if others out there have FIRST HAND experience with these or other Tekton speakers

At $16,000 the Devialet D-Premier should sound better than a amp at $4,000 -5k

James, did you use the 2170 as a total system or do you use an outside dac, amp, or preamp? Thanks.

As a total system. I did on occasion use it as a DAC if I was in between gear swaps or just playing around. All I learned from that exercise was keep it as a complete package. One speaker I really loved pairing it with was PSB T3's. After room correction it provided such a perfectly balanced presentation from top to bottom.

Spot on James as I also learned the 2170 sounds best all on its own. Goodness you should hear the 2170 with the upgrade I outlined.

Here are my questions that I sent to Tekton.

I own Atma-Shere M-60 mono block amps. They are 60 watt class A but are said to perform there best with an 8 ohm load that does not have deep impedance dips.

1. I see you have an 8 ohm version can you provide the impedance curve?
2. Why is the 8 ohm version $400 more than the 4 ohm?
3. Does the 8 ohm come with the upgraded internal wiring?
4. Can the crossover components be identified in advance instead of " what is available at the time"?
5. Can the crossover be provided external to the cabinet?

No reply from Eric... 3 weeks and counting.
