The (never ending) Quest For “More”

When I see people unloading gear that I aspire to, it's a reminder that we will never be satisfied. Even the most revealing, cohesive systems will have days when they fail to get us to that place, so we have to accept dissatisfaction with the knowledge that there are good/great days ahead, without changing anything, and it will all come together again. 

I’m pleased by the diversity of replies and the discussion. None of us lack strong opinions. This is healthy banter. 

I think most audiophiles are closet poets.

I just think at some point you have to say, this is good enough? For me, I have 4 intergrated I rotate. This way I never bore of the same presentation. 

Every time I successfully upgrade something, that wonderful new sound becomes the new baseline from which I evaluate possible new improvement. Each increase in resolution reveals more things that could be better. And on it goes.
