I have been a member of a Corvette forum for many years, even though I sold the car a long time ago.
Same here. I think the difference though is the singular topic and the audience. No one goes to a car show with a C6 and tells someone else your C4 sucks. Example: I recently walked up to 2 random C8 owners, same day, different times, on the street not a show. One was a Z06, first one I’ve seen. Introduced myself etc., guys are showing me round the cars, talking about what we’ve owned and all that, and then fired them up so I could listen to their symphony of sound. Comradery and pride, not competition.
Another example - Corvette Forum member who is a professional photographer offers to do 1/2 day photo shoot of my car. I asked how much. For free. I got 4 amazing studio quality shots. Lighting, PS overlays the whole nine yards. Altogether he spent 8 hours of his time.
