TOSLINK OPTICAL cables

simple question....is there an audible difference in the quality of these cables?  Recommendation?

A good glass fiber toslink will have more resolution than standard monofilimant.  Recommendations are Lifatec or something like Wire World Supernova.

But in general, a good COAX cable will be better than toslink.
I go with polished glass. Not much more money. Never fails no matter the length.
I hooked up my CD transport and compared good coax to inexpensive Toslink, then switched back and forth to try to hear a difference. I cannot say I heard one. Others will have different views, I’m sure, but what I’d like to learn is why different optical cable technologies *could* matter? Junk the POS cheap plastic toslink cables that are comparative crap performers and move up to a quality glass fibre model. The audio performance difference is huge.

I have both the WIREWORLD SUPERNOVA 7 and the DH LABS Silver Sonic Glass Master Toslink for my TVs. Both are great performers with a nod to the WIREWORLD as my #1 choice in my experience.
Something like this is very good no need to spend hundreds of dollars on an optical cable. To answer your question no you will most likely not hear any differences between optical cables unless they are broken.

I have definitely heard differences between a low cost plastic monofilament toslink and a Lifatec glass fiber toslink.  I have heard differences between both toslink types and various COAX cables.  It really depends on your ears and the resolution of your audio equipment.
+1 on the Lifatec cable which sounded quite a bit better than Amazon Basics cable.
I bought a Glass brand toslink cable, which cost very little by comparison to the big audiophile names and there was a significant improvement. I didn’t want to spend a lot because it just runs between my tv and sound bar but the difference was so great, that I had to significantly readjust all of my sound levels.

The Glass optical cables are glass and very inexpensive. Lifatec is also a good glass optical cable somewhat more expensive however still good value. I used both for video side of my system, coax for audio. One needs to be a little more careful about bending glass cables.
