Could you clarify the equipment you are using? It sounds like a console player as it has it’s own sound and volume knob but then it reads like you are going directly to the speakers from the table with no amplifier in between? Are they self-amplified speakers? Some more detail might assist getting responses.
Turntable to External Speaker Connect Issue

I recently connected my turntable (has built-in preamp) to my external speakers via RCA to AUX cable. I have previously had a similar connection at my old house that worked without issue. Upon playing, sound is coming out of both the speakers and the turntable, even when the turntable volume is turned all the way down. Additionally, the sound quality from the speaker is fuzzy. Any idea how I can solve for these problems?
