Underrated album: Sonics AND Music

Listening to this CD this evening it struck me that this might be the most underrated CD I have, from both a sonics and music point of view. I bet everyone has a go-to album that needs more respect.  Mine: Rosanne Cash— Rules of Travel.

Great thread! I'm glad I stumbled on to it. I look forward to checking out all these suggestions. I've gotten to the point that I stream Tidal about 95% of the time but hopefully, the SQ from the production\engineering will show through streaming these. One of my favorite albums that is CD quality on Tidal but just sounds great on my system is the Blue Coast Collection: The E.S.E. Sessions - Various artists. Love The Dog Song!
Agree on all 3 points with Rocketroom. 3 demonstration quality albums with great sonics. Los Lobos Kiko on mobile fidelity master recording vinyl is one of my favorite albums, musically and sonically.
I don't care about sonics.

Not sure if you can call a well-known band like Golden Earring under-rated.
Its just that I only recently  heard "To The Hilt" album. (For decades I was under the impression that all their lps after "Moontan" were sub-par.)

Pleasant surprize!
Fabulous rhythm guitar throughout. Longer tracks. And the addition of Jan Stipps (Supersister) makes this their only prog-tinged lp.

Probably my discovery of the year - and its  a bleeding common lp!
@sammmmmmy  - I've never hear "To the Hilt" before. Took a listen. I like it! Do you hear a little bit of The Who in a couple of the tracks?
YES!   I hear The Who in one track.

On an aside, just played the McVicar soundtrack.
Not half bad - and wonderfully-recorded. Sounds much like The Who on half the tracks and there is a reason: this is basically a Daltry lp (and I think he also directed the film).  Two standout instrumental tracks are non other than Jeff Wayne (War Of The Worlds).
