Upgrade to new Conrad Johnson Premier 140 ?

I read the "Soundstage" review but I would like opinions on the CJ Premier 140 from you guys. Being an 11a owner I would like to know if is a worthwhile upgrade. The Soundstage review mentions a more forward soundstage and I would especially like details on this. My speakers are AP Virgos.

I too would like to see a careful comparasion between these two CJ amps. I am driving the mids and highs on a pair of Genesis V's with the lla, and wonder if going to the 140 would be worthwhile considering the increased cost of the 140.
I don't know what your budget is, but have you considered used Premier 12 monos? And I don't know how efficient the AP Virgos are, but, I'd think you're on the right track getting a larger amp than the 11a for them. For what it's worth, I'm using a C-J MF2500A right now & really enjoying it (as well as not dealing with large tube amps). Just my 2 cents.
I DID THIS - COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SOUND, MUCH MORE FORWARD - AND I'M NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THE HIGHS - I REALLY ENJOYED THE 11A, THIS SOUNDS MORE LIKE I'M BACK WITH TRANSISTORS. THE BASS ,SPEED, RESOLVING POWER AND OVERALL SCALE IS TREMENDOUS THOUGH - I THINK IT'S MORE FOR ROCK LOVERS THAN FEMALE VOCAL, SIMPLE STUFF - MAKE SURE YOU AUDITION-I DIDN'T!!!
While waiting for thenew PR 140 I had ordered,I borrowed a Premier 11A from the dealer. In retrospect, I liked the 11A much better! The vocals were much more clear. For some reason, the PR140 DOES sound a lot like transistors. Maybe it's the negative feedback built into it?
It does sound more "forward" than any other CJ amp I've heard, but I like that quality. I'm thinking about getting something from VAC instead.

The 12s make for a much better step forward. The 11a is a great amp. The 12s are just a bit more... Enjoy !
