It’s actually the guy -- whose name I forget, he’s a well known musician/producer -- that came up with the roller balls idea many years ago, he’s the one who says use inner tubes. I trust him. But I'm not in a position to disagree with you.

As fate would have it bicycle inner tubes have the geometry entirely wrong. For air springs the ideal geometry is large volume with relatively small contact surface area. Rubber bladders and inner tubes also leak and have too much internal damping. Other than that they’re fine. 😬

I used a small diameter partially inflated bicyle tube, then a bamboo board on top of this large enough to place the equipment, then put the rollerballs on top of the bamboo, and the equipment on the rollerballs. X Y and Z all covered. But of course this is just foolish so I moved on from rollerballs.

There is only one vertical direction 🔝The horizontal plane, on the other hand, contains an infinite number of directions 🔛 Plus there are 3 - count em! - 3 rotational 🔄 directions - one around each x y and z axis. There are so many directions of motion because the seismic type forces on the Earth’s surface are like shaking out a rug. I.e., waves with many directions of motion. Carry on. 🕺🏻

mrc4u---you should know that the Roller Block (and all other roller bearings) do NOT provide isolation in the vertical plane. They need to be used in conjunction with something that does.

You might want to put some Felt under you DAC too... It would be helpful to give us an idea of what components you have in you system...

Honestly, let your ears be your guide here and experiment! Keep what sounds best to you. You will get differing opinions here I'm sure, but only your ears matter!
