You can only take 5 albums to a deserted Island...

But there is a world class system there for your use.  Leaving many favorites behind but I must have:

Yes - Close to the Edge
Rolling Stones - Beggars Banquet
Robin Trower - Bridge of Sighs
Neil Young - Everybody Knows this is Nowhere
John Lee Hooker - Mr. Lucky

pops
The Verve, Storm in Heaven
Roxy Music, Avalon
Duran Duran, Rio
Tycho, Dive
Bluetech, Elementary Particles

The-Dream: Love/Hate
Tears For Fears: Songs From The Big Chair
Joni Mitchell: Blue
Jack Johnson: Sleep Through The Static
Miles Davis: Kind of Blue

p.s. picking 5 for any music lover should induce a cringe - only 5?? Deserted island? How lucky we are that we're NOT actually on a deserted island! (no offense to the two Audiogon'ers that actually are on a deserted island).
In order to live with myself I chose an album from each decade starting in the 60’s

1. Beatles abbey rd
2. Pink Floyd wish you were here
3. U2 Joshua tree
4. Radiohead - OK computer
5. Led zep II

I know 2 (led zep and Beatles)are in 60’s but my rules and by luck I find a buried treasure of r.e.m. document and the replacements -pleased to meet me. With dreams of rolling stones on the beach and (the) who will find me but none other the police in (the) cars
I always find it interesting that there is typically little soul/funk/R&B to be found on these type of threads.

I grew up in the late '60s and '70s, and, while that period was obviously golden for Rock, I found black popular music to be more compelling. So, in that particular vein, I'd take these (and many more, if possible):

Open Our Eyes – Earth Wind and Fire

That's the Way of the World – Earth Wind and Fire

Tower of Power – Tower of Power

Back to Oakland – Tower of Power

Live in New Orleans – Maze, Featuring Frankie Beverly

      ^ these five if pressed

All Day Music – War

Wild and Peaceful – Kool and the Gang

Flood – Herbie Hancock

City Life / Unfinished Business – The Blackbirds
