lets active, "badger"--transcendentally gorgeous sad love song. mitch easter's nasal yowl isn't the greatest, but it fits the song + his end solo just burns.
Whats playing on your system today?
Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.
I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....
Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....
Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Ian Moore, Strange Days, newest from Ian. "Strange Days" https://youtu.be/BNWbfm6Q69I "Saturday Night" https://youtu.be/7PpUEiFDUDk N |
arcam88 and I caught Ian Moore last Thursday evening at a dive bar in Newport Ky. The Southgate house Revival was formerly a church. It has been converted into 2 venues for concerts and local talent. Both spaces are very small. I would estimate that 100 people would be max capacity for the fire code in either bar. We paid $10 bucks each and were appx twelve feet from the stage. There was appx 50 people in the bar....Ian Moore proceeded to kick our asses for two and a half hours!!! He shared stories from the road and stories of inspirations for some of the songs he has written. One story he told was when he opened for Ted Nugent, Lynyrd Skynyrd in Cincinnati. Nugent was arrested and fined for shooting flaming arrows during the concert. https://www.upi.com/Archives/1993/01/12/Nugent-fined-1000-for-fire-code-violation/4453726814800/ However the story didn’t end there. Ian explained that the drummer that was touring with him (back then) just happened to be fooling around with Nugents Daughter. When Ted learned of the news, he barged onto Ian’s bus and threatened anyone that came near his Daughter. Ian said "in self preservation, I hid in the back his bus overnight". Another story that included Cheap Trick. Ian was young and they were playing in Austin where he grew up so all of Ian’s friends and family were in attendance. Robin Zander asked Ian if he would like to perform the encore with them. Ian said "Hell yeah! How cool! It’s F****n Cheap Trick, right!". So Ian was telling all of his friends that he was joining the encore. The song was The Beatles, Day Tripper and he was getting to jam with Cheap Trick, one of his favorite bands. Rick Nielsen told Ian he was going to start the song and Ian was to come out and join when he was ready. Ian said "I had a different plan. He was going to go out swinging in front of his home town". Nielsen started the beginning riff of Day Tripper. Ian went out and did a Michael Jordan, sky high, 4 second hangtime jump into the Pete Townsend windmill and landed into the splits and then,,,,, hit the wrong chord!! Wasn’t funny then, but he still smiles when he tells the story. It was a fantastic show, and he did not disappoint. He played everything I wanted to hear and some cuts from his new release. Me and my guitar, Muddy Jesus, How does it feel, Harlem, Angelyne, Magdalena, Champagne and Reefer, Room 229, Blue Sky, Johnny Cash and his electric Bible, Satisfied, Carry On....... After the show, he shook hands and signed autographs with everyone in the bar. THE BEST show I’ve seen in a long time. Don’t miss him if he comes to your town. N |
