Why no speakers with remote control tone controls?

It baffles me that most speakers don't have this!!!. You get up and make an adjustment then sit back down then repeat repeat!!!!! If I was a gadget creator I'd make a device with fingers to move the settings!  Hello manufacturers are you listening? Thanks for letting me vent.

Speaker level tone controls universally suck. The high currents require big connectors in the switches which invariably get dirty. On top of that, the simplicity/complexity of adjusting the tone means you either have a super simple level shift, or you make very complex circuits for each step.

Doing this at the line level, before the amplifier, is a lot easier, and yields consistent results regardless of speaker.

Maybe what you need is a miniDSP unit so you can sit at your chair and adjust the EQ in real time?  You will still need a laptop.

BTW, @csmgolf hit it on the head.

There are active speakers with such features, and act as I explained. Line level tone controls before the amplifier portion. :)
Now THAT is a great idea, at least for convenience. The tone, loudness, and even balance would best be controlled right at the listening position.
Of course, you can get a preamp or integrated to do this all for you, it's how most do it.
