Are there any recording artists you just can’t listen too?

For me there is one that has always been top of the list.

Edith Piaf…..l just can’t think of anything worse.

Do not get me wrong and consider my choice is in any way racist….l love to listen to music with songs in any language… Italian, French, Spanish…..

Russian and German can however be extremely demanding, but Edith Piaf (if possible in any language) is a potential harrowing experience.

Do any others on here have a similar artist, or artists that can trigger the same physical reaction?

Johns quotes

l was speaking of a recorded black and white video (in America) of John on a Beatles documentory. There was a lot of discord and there were a lot of people including the church goers saying they should be thrown out of America. He did say it as l quoted and was trying to put the record straight on what he actually meant. He could of course have been back tracking on the video l’m quoting and was trying to justify what was said earlier.

@mylogic , I cannot argue with you because I did not see that documentary or actually hear that quote (or very many others by John Lennon).  The last copy & paste I did came from AI and this one that I am about to paste is from Wiki.  But again, if you heard the quote, I will not argue the point.

"Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn’t argue about that; I’m right and I’ll be proved right. We’re more popular than Jesus now; I don’t know which will go first – rock ’n’ roll or Christianity. Jesus was all right but his disciples were thick and ordinary. It’s them twisting it that ruins it for me."[4][12]

The video l still have in my collection l believe. Your evidence is probably correct also…..two separate incidents.

l will be home tomorrow so l will look out the old tape and see if it will still run and report back.

@immathewj

The quote you last posted is far, far longer than the video clip l remember. As it was a Beatles abridged history l expect my version is from another interview. We will see if l can rerun the tape. It’s at least 40 years old now

John was being ironic with the statement,  in any case he didn't  say greater, just more popular.
