Phono preamp hum @lewm No it isn't. @Kokomo Nope, I have given up on it. I have another unit that works fine.
55” or 65” TV Screen Size and Your Speakers: Please Join Survey 65" for sure. It might seem big at first, but you'll get used to it in minutes.
Phono preamp hum Yes, the ground wire is secure. I have tried grounding it a few different ways with the same result. Like I said, it sounds fine for about 30 minutes, then the humming gradually becomes louder the longer it plays, or even not playing.
Phono preamp hum I have no idea if it has an AC filiment supply. It has a wall wart power supply. Once it starts humming, it gradually gets louder and I have to unplug it to stop.
3 tone control integrated amp/preamp My backup integrated is a 15 yrs old Vincent tube/SS hybrid that has tone controls and.....a loudness button! 150 watts RMS. I have thought about selling it but I am having a hard time uploading photos.
An audio component you just can't let go There is a button on your tv remote control that will change your news channel to something else, movies etc. Just use it.
any ideas? I am stating what is obvious. If it buzzes when not playing anything, it's the electronics inside that is causing it. Could be a ground loop or decaying parts in the sub amp.
Non-Audiophile Audiophile question! Nobody thought of open back headphones? Listening to speakers in back of you seems, well, backwards.
Bluesound mode not really cutting it Look at the BelCanto E.stream at about $2000. Small but hefty, outplayed Innuous Pulse at $3800, No DAC. Small difference to CD's.
Magnepan LRS+ resistors on the tweeters… which? I have had Maggies for over 25 years. Lots of tinkering with placement and room interactions. For me, the best way to fix what I call a "hissy top end" was to put a sound absorbing panel directly behind the speaker more toward the top of the spe...
colibrie "Long haired country boy" by Charlie Daniels needs to be played.
Infinity RS 1B - How does the 'old dream speaker' compare to today's speakers? I love line source speakers. Keep in mind you must have a room they will work well with. Expansive sound means a larger room.
Clipping with Separates with change of Power Conditioner[?] @carlsbad2 +1. I get no distortion or haze from high quality wall receptacle. No conditioner in my future.
Help needed with new integrated amp. @willywonka I goofed, but it was only my 3rd mistake this year. HAHA. It is worth it to get Maggies with the true ribbon tweeter. I have the 3.7's. Maybe more important to get one that is right for the size room you have.
Help needed with new integrated amp. I think that is what you get from the smaller Maggies. Any Maggie 1.7 or larger have true ribbon tweeters that are hard to beat . Which will improve midrange as well by freeing up the rest of the panel. |
