Local pick up only…
I'm selling a fairly large equipment rack right now. The rack doesn't break down and is a three leg steel based piece. To ship this is just really not that feasible. Not only would the cost be fairly prohibitive, but the shape makes it a tough shi...
Axpona 2022 what impressed you?

The Music at AXPONA 2022
Few years back, I requested some Black Sabbath to be played on a large system. Sure enough the rep agreed and we played the only song he had available...Iron Man!!  This didn't prove to be the best experience, LOL. Seemed to get the room cleared o...
Vivid Audio Speakers
@verdantaudio  Your analogy to Tesla in regards to not looking under the hood is a poor one, IMHO. The Vivid speakers are anything but high tech if you look inside the cabinets! For those who want to know what the construction and parts are, feel ...
Vivid Audio Speakers
Giya's are some of my all time favorite speakers. I have heard the whole line with the Spirit's being my top choice. Having stated this, I am always amazed at the SQ that Vivid gets from a) the choice of driver and b) the quality of the internal w...
Well I joined the Silversmith FIDELIUM Speaker cable club today
What deludedaudiophhile points out about the resistance of these cables is informative. Does anyone know what the resistance of their speaker cables is…and if this aspect influences their awareness of the SQ?  One thing that Nordost specifies is t...
Avoiding US dealer markups
Perhaps when we are discussing US dealer mark ups, we should determine what the difference is between a normal mark up…and a total gouge! As many folks have eluded to, there are certainly many areas where a local dealer will be worth their extra e...
Avoiding US dealer markups
Depending on the gear needing to be imported it can make a lot of sense. In the case of the OP, perhaps not as the unit would be as blackdoghifi pointed out, but in the case of a cartridge, or cables, or furniture...that would be a different matte...
Can a Amp be "timeless" and compete with todays amps?
When it comes to amps, there seem to be a plethora of folks who like a specific sound. Some will call that sound ’distortion’, others will call it ’neutrality’ and still others will call it ’transparency’. Tube amps have a specific ’sound’, that s...
Jadis DA88S mkii integrated
I’m not sure that in Art’s system that it was that detailed...plus his speakers were probably a major limiting factor when it comes to detail resolution, IMO.
Jadis DA88S mkii integrated
@smodtactical  No surprise on the review from Art D. He had a certain 'bent' towards what he liked and if your system or sound didn't meet that, he would probably not like it that much. Shindo was his favorite, would not have been mine...nor his l...
Can a Amp be "timeless" and compete with todays amps?
My Jeff Rowland model 8T modded is still able to compete with almost all of the current 'favorite' ss amps today. I think if an amp is able to deliver close to that 'straight line with gain' aspect that Peter Walker coined, then I think it is some...
Is it ok to stack LPs horizontally?
Warpage is always the reason behind not storing LPs flat, yet I have never seen anyone give a reason as to why that would be. Anyone?
Life of KT 150 Tubes
@audition__audio If you check the specs of the Amplitrex it states it can supply 500 volts on the line.Like I said, it is the only tester I know of that can actually test the KT150's.
Life of KT 150 Tubes
Not necessarily. The Amplitrex can supply 500 volts on the line, which as you say is not ideal, but it is the best out there. This would give one a better idea about the general health of the tube than any other tester i am aware of. Are you aware...
