What to do with your tax return? You mean they give money back??!!!! I finally caved in and sold some equipment to pay that damn Uncle Sam. I was considering sending him my first born for medical experiments, but my wife wouldn't let me.
Speaker Grill Cloth, On or Off I take them off any chance I get. I have Legacy Classics and I don't know if it's a visual thing or not, but I swear they sound better with them off. My wife thinks they are ugly, so when shes around I leave them on, but when the cat's away....
Home theatre and Musical Experience Sean, have you listened to a Proceed in your system? I have the older PAV, like I mentioned previously, because I just moved to HT this year and was very nervous. Previous preamps were Audio Research and Coda, since music is my priority, I venture...
Replacing my preamp??? What don't you like about the BAT, if you don't mind my asking? I always thought it a pretty nice piece, in about the same price range.
My own audio store Damn! Do you leave everything powered up all the time? It's all I can do to try to put one kickass system together. How much time do you spend listening?
Bi-Wire or Double Run of Single Wire ??? I have them coming to the posts from 180 degree opposite directions. The cable is fairly flexible and I bring the one set up from the bottom and the other pair down from the top. It surprised me how easily and well this worked out.
Bi-Wire or Double Run of Single Wire ??? That's how I'm running my mains. My old amp had biwire terminals (Parasound), the new amp (Classe) doesn't. So I've got both spades on the one terminal and it sounds great.
Stunned by a cable upgrade It's an awesome experience when something like thiat happens. Great post Gunbei. I don't play a lot with cables, and I haven't heard of the AP Oval 9. What is the list price for a 10 foot pair? I've been a loyal fan of Magnan Vi's since a similar ...
Warm sounding ss power amps I like Classe amps, I have a CA-200 and a CAV-75. The rich, full midrange is what sold me on the Classe.
What s your favorite amp 2500 used/ 4k If you listen to 80% music I would suggest a seperate stereo amp and ht amp. I think many multi channel amps don't sound as good as a good stereo amp. I also listen to 80% music. I listened to the Classe CAV-150 and thought it a decent amp, but I ...
Too snobbish for SACD as it exists? J.D. I'm not bashing Sony or SACD, I'm just wondering why they don't let the software go take off so they can let the SACD format fly. I think SACD is a great format, but you are right in saying the buying public has shown no loyalty to superior t...
Too snobbish for SACD as it exists? Nealb, I believe you are correct, I'm not positive but I do believe I heard Sony tried to control the Beta software market. You'd think you'd learn from your mistakes. But the question is: Is total short term market domination more profitable than...
Too snobbish for SACD as it exists? Jmslaw, I brought this up on another thread and I do believe it a factor. But I think that a bigger reason that SACD has not been as successful as hoped lies in the software. Sony continues to try to dominate the software market for SACD and it se...
Home theatre and Musical Experience Steve, I recently took my first plunge into HT. I've been a audiophile for 20 years but was always nervous about making the move to HT, because music still remains 75-80% of my listening. I bought a Proceed PAV with Classe CA-200 and Classe CAV-75...
Legacy anyone? I've been following Legacy since 1987 when they were called Reel to Real Design. I've bought 3 pair of speakers from them over the course of time. I would say they aren't what they used to be, but success tends to do that. When you put so much mon... |
