Nearly all manufacturers do not advertise/exhibit their product measurements? Why?
@amir_asr After having read your reply and getting past the fake outrage, your answer is "No." , you do not check. That is alright, but it will always leave you open to questions.I say fake outrage because no allegation or insinuation was made; ...
Nearly all manufacturers do not advertise/exhibit their product measurements? Why?
"The industry is transforming though because if they don’t measure, then I might. :)" What unbelievable arrogance. No wonder people in the industry regard your site as a joke. You still have not answered if you actually ever check whether Yang se...
Audio Science Review = Rebuttal and Further Thoughts
Those ASR minions are so silly it makes one want to burst out laughing. I am just reading the thread on vinyl referenced above. What an absolute hoot. Then we get this comment: "Oh, science is right out of the window for this thread." I think ther...
When someone tells you it's a $40,000 amp, does it sound better?
This forum is really becoming as silly as ASR. Yes, a lot of audio equipment is overpriced. Yes, some cheaper equipment sounds great. Yes, some dear equipment sounds poor. Yes, some high priced amplifiers are worth it and you can really hear the d...
DAC suggestions
If you do not like brashness, avoid Topping Dacs. I find them really hard to listen to, especially for female voices. They also appear to have reliability issues. In your price range I would suggest a Denafrips. Gustard is quite good as well.
Power cords or power conditioner
Nyev: "Lol…. I do get a kick out of the audiosciencereview channel.  I find it amusing and utterly useless. " Completely agree. It is not regarded seriously by those who like to listen to music.
Advice for Streaming Newbies - Best Bang for Our Bucks
I agree that Qobuz is far superior.
One turntable with two arms, or two turntables with one each - which would you prefer?
Obviously 1 tt with 2 arms and an adjustable phone stage. There is no question about this. The Kuzma Stabi R is mentioned above.
Direct Drive
"Motor noise from DD??? Must be a cheap Fisher or BSR." Not so, cogging was a major problem in older Technics. I do not know if they fixed it. Suffice to say, I would not buy a dd tt. Yes, tangential arms sound a lot better. Or look at Thales.
Indentical measurments = Identical performance?
I really do not see the point of these posts. ASR is not taken seriously by those who are really interested in music. It is best to ignore them and let them argue amongst themselves.
Two amps into one pair of speakers
@yyzsantabarbara +2 This is a very silly idea.
Phono Preamplifier Redux .. Damn This is Getting Expensive
Consider a cheaper, (not cheap), phono stage and a SUT. Another solution is an RCM 2 Sensor 11. This is a great phono stage and provides precise RIAA equalization for cartridges in the range of 0.3 mV to 5 mV, and outputs a line level signal of 2 ...
Perspective system advise needed.
You appear to have dismissed the Dutch and Dutch as a choice. This is a mistake as they are probably the best sounding of the speakers mentioned to date.
Rant against the industry with hopes for discussion on positive change
"I would really like to see a company make a 12” and 15” Tannoy gold tv stand with volume control, bass, treble and loudness knobs as well as USB charging with an outlet strip on the back and a shelf for a PS5 or Xbox… that way they get big clean ...
OK...here's another tweak that really works
"Who listens to CD's these days?". I certainly do. Do you not? How sad.
