Fleetwood Mac i read about a big controversy over how bob welch (among the numerous fm guitarists) was singled out for exclusion when fm was enshrined in the hall of fame. he speculated first that it was because he had filed a breach of contract suit against ot...
cabling a subwoofer to a NAD C356 integrated amp al:the nad c356 has preamp outs and ins--would the poster be better served connecting the amp preout to the rca inputs on the sub (and rca outputs to to the amp prein)?
Some irrefutable truths about rock and roll mkl:1. i'd very much enjoy hearing your songs if you care to share.2. i've only recently come around to fully appreciate chuck berry. dylan, elvis costello, or other such verbal freaksofnature excluded, he's probably the world's greatest lyricist-...
Some irrefutable truths about rock and roll martykl, we agree on many things. peter green is godlike, "then play on" is a stone classic, etc. as for lindsay buckingham, i respect his craftsmanship and he probably is a genius of sorts, although as a guitar player he doesn't grab me on the sa...
Kef 104.2 Speakers. Suggestions Discussion Forum i used to use tung oil, which (unlike most commercial polishes) actually seals and protects the wood, in addition to giving a nice sheen. it's also long lasting--a quick coat should still look good after a few months.
Help choosing floor-standing speakers. i remember being awfully impressed with the cobalt 815s; not a big low end, but for classical/jazz they'd be great--their transparency is eerie. not fussy about equipment pairing.
Rembering the 80s: College Rock marty, i apologize for missing your post, which nails the essence of romeo void--had the singer been conventionally beautiful they'd have been huge. the great sf singer barbara manning was another one who fell victim to that syndrome

subwoofer connection quandry al et. al.: thanks for the input. i should have found the earlier thread, which was expressly in point, but i drank too much cough syrup last night, which is interacting very badly with my pysch meds.
subwoofer connection quandry (i posted my followup query on the wrong post) but, almarg, in your expert view, would there be an issue with simply connecting one of the two sub outputs of the amp to the sub input as others have opined?
Stereo sub out to mono, is it safe? lord almarg:your explanation, as always makes a lot of sense. in your expert view, would there be an issue with simply connecting one channel of the amp to the sub input as elizabeth suggests?
ARE YOU AN AUDIOPHILE? - FOR THE LOVE OF SOUND +1 jdedinite. i also know a number of guys who have ever-evolving, very expensive systems who actually own or listen to very little music and/or have only casual knowledge of music. you get the feeling that it's all about the buying and selling an...
Life after ADS haven't heard 'em all but the 70s x10 series (710, 810 etc.) are ubiquitous on ebay and sound surprisingly modern. the mid 80s xx90s (1290, 1590) are the real prizes, however, and hold up remarkably well.
Beck / Morning Phases been listening to this more, and i'm revising my initial impressions upwards--the songs are there, and as others have commented it's sonically excellent. i still struggle with his voice--he uses the same unnatural-sounding baritone on each track a...
Sony 5400 or DAC ? i would think with the precipitous decline of physical media and upsurge in computer-based audio you'd be better served with a dac than a cdp--you'll have a lot more flexibility going forward |
