REL vs JL AUDIO
I also sold my REL S812 and bought 2 Rythmik G22s, much better low bass, tremendously better integration, just as tonally accurate - or at least similar, but most likely due to the servo, a little less immediate.Regardless the Rythmiks are a reall...
Poor Customer Service
I wouldn’t know, several of my components are from Bryston. Besides from devastatingly underrated audio chops, their build quality is one of the best I have ever had, and the way they stand behind their components is absolutely second to none!Here...
Rank the tweaks, geeks!
I would also add my vote for all component isolation including not just the electronics but the stands and the speakers as well.
Noise floors
Absolutely wonderful thread, really enjoyed reading everybody's thoughts. As for me and my system, the next home that I buy, I will also make sure I build a dedicated listening room for my equipment.
Why has focal raised their prices so much on Sopra line
I have both, the Wilson Sophia’s and the Focal Sopra #3’s... there is no way my Sophia’s sound better than the Sopra’s, not even close. The Wilson’s are not as fast, or as detailed, articulate, or as musical. They go a bit lower, but that is it......
Best sub for music,
Replaced my S812 REL with 2 Rythmik dual firing subs. Never knew how much my mighty REL were holding back my music until the switch.
Best Preamp and Amp combination, interesting finding!!!
As far as electronics go, I completely concur. I also State not unlike the other fellow earlier on in this thread that the preamp is truly the heart of your stereo system. And that the attenuator in the preamp is critical. In my system my preamp is...
What are the current useless terms in this "audio world"
MQA
Need a DAC Recommendation.
I would put my money down on a Gustard X26 Pro. Easily beats the Topping everyone is so fond of, is built like a tank, has lots of settings and beats many much more expensive DACS on SQ. Extremely well designed.I would buy it new.And I would not s...
Stratospheric audio gear prices
As soon as I started reading this all I could think of was "Boulder", but then I thought of it being terribly overpriced for what it was.It seems the formula for some manufacturers is:1. put the components in a solid metal box and make sure the fa...
Garth Powell on Why Audioquest does not make AC Regenerators
Preferred the Chang Lightspeed’s over the Audioquest Niagara’s myself. Bought 2, had myself some A/B testing session and returned the Niagara 7000. Never tried a power regenerator before though. But would really like to try several of Bryston’s pr...
Wanting to narrow the field for compatible speakers
I did the same thing last year. I had a pair of Wilson Sophia's and I decided to get a pair of Focal Sopra 3's.I know Wilson speakers are supposed to be very musical but for me they just seemed a little slow and not very resolving. The Sopra's are...
Subwoofer Decisions - REL/Rythmik, Pair/Single, Paper/Aluminum Driver, etc.
Why a pair of "Rythmik E22" instead of a single F12? I ask because this is my dilemma. The F12 has an AB amp while the E22 has the Class D amp. And I was thinking for musicality I would prefer the F12SE... But sight unseen and no listening tests m...
