Horn based loudspeakers why the controversy? Kosst..........this is from your 1st post . " My system at home portrays a comparable sound to what I heard. Generally I feel that the dynamics of events like that are less than what people want to be hearing on a home stereo. I'm not sure 130 dB ...
My apologies_Upgrade path from Wilson WattPuppy 7's? Gerry, you are naive, but I understand your love for the Mac amp. The WP7s are also something special. However, together, they are not a good match, ( the reason for your searching ). Listen to George, and : Try a high current ss amp. IMO, and, IM...

Any deals on klipsch speakers Owning Lascalas myself, can you give more information as to why ?
Horn based loudspeakers why the controversy? I am enjoying a pair of Klipsch Lascala speakers, which are my 3rd pair. These have the " AL " crossovers, which I understand, were not designed by PWK, but by another engineer at Klipsch, designed to be a more " audiophile " crossover. I have dam...
Tekton Double Impacts Of my many amplifiers, I own a modified Citation 12, putting out a real 1 watt of class A power ( based on a Nelson Pass design ). It drives my modified Klipsch LaScalas fairly well, sounding excellent. But, I can easily clip it, depending on the ...
Speakers for electronic/hiphop/rnb [$4000 range]? Yogiboy recommended to you setting up the Kefs in your dedicated listening room. If you have not done that, why not give it a try. There is a current post on here, where the OP wanted speakers specifically for rock. I am from the camp that good sp...

What are the best speakers for 80's hard rock? In my experience, I have found, listeners who primarily listen to rock, tend to " turn it up ", more so than other listeners. Whether better or not, a pair of large Cerwin Vegas ( the better ones ), will play louder, with less compression, than a ...
Klipsch Heresy iii paired with Vintage Marantz integrated amp? Not commenting yet on the question, but, cds are digital, fyi.
LaScalla "horn" sound compared to "maggie" sound Listened to the Santana and Abraxas cds, as well as LZep IV, during the last 48 hrs, and all I can say is, very enjoyable.
Is It Safe to Warm Up Power Amps Without Speakers Attached Hooking up speaker cables to the amp would not be a problem if the cables are not shorted. However, what about the inputs of the amp that is warming up ? The amp should be shut down, caps discharged before plugging into the inputs.
LaScalla "horn" sound compared to "maggie" sound I wanted to add one more thing. I am not a head banger, any more at least, and at moderate, or even lower volumes, dynamics, both micro, as well as macro, are 2nd to none. A virtue of horns. MrD.
LaScalla "horn" sound compared to "maggie" sound My 2 cents. I am on my 3rd pair of Lascalas, and have owned most panel type speakers, as well as many box speakers. Klipsch heritage can sound nasty, or sound excellent. Crossover mods ( and type ), horn and cabinet damping, associated equipment, ...
B&W 801 S2 Fatigue VS. 802 S2 No Fatigue? Stereo5, the B&W 801s are not bright, but very revealing, unless the crossovers are aged. I do not think it is the room, because the 802s would have, also, sounded bright. |
