Dynaudio focus 360
@twangy57 thank you for your response. I obviously read your meaning incorrectly. I hope everything works out for you. Music listening is awesome for many of us, so I always wish the best. As far as stuffing foam in the ports on the 360s, I never ...

@twangy57 I was not trying to be negative, but I am familiar with the 360s as I have heard them a few times. A great speaker, for the right listener. @jeffbij The Mcintosh MX 110 has a mm phono stage. My best, MrD.

@twangy57 Not quite encouragement, but I am very experienced, and honest. With all of your posts, I hate to be the barer of bad news, but if you are expecting your 360s to reproduce a Marshall stack, at the spl levels I believe you are speaking ab...
Do most people prefer tight bass or non tight bass?
The bass produced by both amplifiers are quite different, however they are completely different sounding throughout the rest of the range as well. Without getting into a heated argument, I gave up on tube amps a long time ago. The bass from a dc c...
What do you do when the music’s not speaking to you?
@rvpiano , hope you are well my friend. I listen to music when I feel like it (that is, in my listening seat), and I generally am in the mood for something specific beforehand. I mentioned gummies prior in another post, as it relaxes me from my an...

Matching a amplifier to speakers
@twangy57, hello, and I hope you are well, as you seem to be. A few questions...Have you had your MX110 overhauled, or is it stock? Have you used the Adcom amp with the new speakers, and what do you think? What sq characteristics are you looking f...

What source are you using/feeding into the Ayre? Stacked components like that often inhibits gear to perform it's best (magnetic, electrical and mechanical interference with each other). Dress your cables, keeping signal cables away from power cab...
No preamp in system
I stated above that I really enjoy my Luminous passive. Recently, I purchased an umbilical cable from Brad at Revelation Audio Labs for my preamp (I talk about it elsewhere here at the ’Gon), to go between it and the external power supply. I am no...
No preamp in system
In 2016, I sold my phono gear and my record collection. Admittedly, the sq of vinyl was much more enjoyable to me, but the inconvenience of vinyl was simply too much for me, at least, at that time. RV, I completely understand what you are saying. ...
No preamp in system
Good for you. Enjoy! My best, MrD.
What next for a Volti Lucera based system
Before you buy anything new, I would experiment with some other speaker placement options, such as a foot here, a few inches there, more toe in, further from the wall, etc. I would also contact Greg Roberts and speak with him about your concerns. ...
My umbilical cable between my preamp and its power supply.
@fthompson251 as you likely know, break in is quite real, and ime, substantial. It will continue to improve. I have almost 300 hrs of break in on my RAL umbilical, and the sq characteristics I find so important with my enjoyment of music listening...
Do I need upgraded power cables?
Why Preffair? Under $40. with free shipping...that is why......and I have built power cables costing more in parts, and my time, that do not do anything better than these. Never have I indicated that they are "real", but at the price, they are FAR...
