Pro-Ject turntables It was just easy to listen to. Nothing super hifi about it but it still had good sound stage and with that cartridge combination it delivered warm natural sounding vocals, which for me is pretty important since I don't listen to a ton of instrumen...
Is it possible for a record to be too loud? Thanks for all the advice. I just purchased a long overdue copy of hi fi news and it checked out totally fine so I am pretty confidant that my set up isn't the issue and the issue has to be that particular cut on that record. That all being said I...
Is it possible for a record to be too loud? 55 db, I think. It sounds fantastic on every other record I own, but heck that could be why. Would definitely fill out the sound a little bit if it were over driven.
Pro-Ject turntables I started with a Project Xpression, which I believe used to cost less than it does now, and I loved it. I Just had one of the wood bodied Grado carts on it with the Grado phono pre....of course all of this snow balled into my currently $10kish Gar...

herbie's mat or Funk Firm Achromat Really depends on what table your using, my boston audio mat sounded awful on my last table and sounds great on my current one. Also as a side note Herbie has around 5-10 different mats, you should check out his site.

RSD 2014 Death Cab always sounds good! Did you get their live one with magic magic? I have been looking all over for that, none of the stores in my town even got a copy.....

record store day: missed the CAKE I was really want Death Cab's live release and not one of the five stores in town even got it. Must have just been posted straight to ebay....Definitely plenty of those 24 hour song flaming lips LPs floating around.
Best phono cable for EMT 15? The A23 I am actually selling..my new ortofon rs 309d takes DIN so I'm going to have to let go of it. I did end up selling the Amadeus, mainly because my girlfriend wasn't too keen on the idea of me setting up another turntable in our apartment or...
Kuzma Stabi S and 4point? overkill? I personally feel if you have a great cart and a great arm little else matters...within reason. Worst case scenario just buy a different table for arm/cart combo later.
How to isolated stand from springy floors? Thanks for all the advice, I have been trying out few different variations and I think I might have this worked out. Since I posted this I have changed my TT to a Garrard 301 with a very heavy plinth and I also purchased some of Herbie's big dot g... |
