Someone please explain the logic of upgrades I have studied mods that involve about $30 worth of parts that allegedly make a unit, in this case a CDP, that make it comparable to a unit costing thousands. One must wonder why the manufacture does not do. It would probably cost them no more tha...
UPS strikes again I often ship (from work) via FedEx. when a Priortiy package is not received at the guaranteed delivery time (typically 10 am) a full refund is given upon request. While I agree in the grand scheme of current world events that this seems trivial, y...
tube amp sound more engaging Dazzdax,SET amps have quite an advantage in sound due to their design. Most SET's have limited power however. As the Klipschorns are extremely efficient, they respond very well to low power SET's. The Klipschorns certainly have their advantages an...

Recommendation for inexpensive integrated I would suggest the Audio Refinement Complete. I may be a bit over the $500 budget however. You should be able to pick one up used for about $550.Paul
Anybody else bothered by $8call.00 I tend to ignore them as well. However, if it is for a product that I am interested in, there is no harm in sending an email. A listed price would be preferable.
S.E.T. Amp DIY Kits Hi Chuck,as far a DYI kits, you may wish to check out Decware. Only consideration is that they are not for beginers. These amps sound awsome! as far a efficient speakers, the Hornshoppe Horn is a great choice for flee power if you have 2 conrners ...
amp/pre combo or integrated for ML's no opinions? I am thinking of trading a pair of speakers for a Rogue Tempest Magnum. It seems to be well thought of. Any comments on it?thanks, Paul
SETs vs. Push/Pull Tom,I am in a similar situation. I love my SET, but my 89 db electrostatics are not efficient enough. At 86 db, your speakers are (efficiency wise) a bad match for an SET amp. One speaker that I currently own are the Hornshoppe Horns. They probabl...
Tell us compliments received on your system... I guess I should sell my system and by me a Bose Music Wave Radio. The truth is, most poeple who hear my system are genuninely unimpressed. Most simply say politely 'it sounds nice'. Other comments, 'I had a $100 pair of speakers that sounded as g...
Best $500-$700 amp/preamp or integrated although only 50 Watts, the Audio Refinement Complete is a great integrated in your price range. It pushes my 89 Db speakers with ease and sounds wonderful to me and many others. it is a worthy consideration.good luck, Paul

What integrated amp under a grand is your favorite Although I have not heard the other suggested amps, I currently own a Audio Refinement Complete Integrated. It compares remarkably well to other more expensive separates I have had.
Martin Logan Owners...Why should I? Hello Wmwman, you may wish to read some of the posts on the hot formum topic on this site: Electrostatics or Dynamics. This is a very subjective preferance between the 2. I for one, prefer ML's. Also, as JohnK mentioned, Fostex based single driver ... |
