Amazing ''Overachieving'' products...your pick?
Squeezebox Touch. The previous Squeezebox models were also "overachievers" but the Touch beats them all (except, of course, the Transporter).
Quick poll How long have you been in this hobby?
1980, when I heard my first ever high-end setup (large maggies, don't recall the other gear) and was "blown away" by the realism! Been chasing the elusive audio holy grail ever since!
XTZ Room Analyzer or something else?
I have used the XTZ Room Analyzer on multiple occasions for setting up my own 2-channel and 5.1 surround sound setups. It's fairly easy to use, but DOES take some time to learn all the nuances, and how to interpret the graphs. The latest version o...
matching center channel to mains/rears
I would definitely stick with ML in order to match the tonality and speed of your Summits... either the Stage or Motif. I have Summits with a Motif center and couldn't be happier.
15 amp vs 20 amp difference?
Hah! I just received a Running Springs Mongoose 20A cord, and noticed it has the exact same pairing as the Shunyata and Zu referenced above... a 20A IEC connector, but a 15A rated standard plug! I thought it might have been a production error, but...
Tools to measure in room response
Jim, it took a couple weeks for shipping (including a short delay to pony up for the "customs fees"). The latest software version is MUCH improved over the original, and I have found it extremely helpful for fine tuning my acoustic treatments and ...
Tools to measure in room response
Depending on your budget, I'd also check out the XTZ Room Analyzer "all-in-one-box" kit (www.xtz.se). It only runs on Windows (XP best), but is very easy to set up and use. Cost is ~$300 after shipping and customs fees.

Sarasota, FL
There are a growing group of Sarasota area audiophiles who have been driving up together for Tampa Bay Listening Society (TBLS) meetings/listening sessions. We hope to get a contingent of TBLS folks to reciprocate and drive down for a weekend visi...
Transmission line speakers
FYI... an individual in Jupiter, FL has a vintage pair of IMF Studios (Fried design) they are giving up. More details here...http://www.tbls.websitetoolbox.com/post?id=3551479If interested, I'll forward their email to you.

FYI, just realized this old thread should be updated. The Tampa Bay Listening Society is alive and thriving, with a new Website/Forum... www.thetbls.comFor those of you in the Tampa Bay area (even Bradenton and Sarasota), check us out!
Music Server with no DAC?
Logitech is reportedly going to release the "Squeezebox Touch" in mid-late Aug. It is rumored to be 24/96 capable, thus the perfect solution for those of us who already have a capable outboard DAC, and not interested in a standard or modded Transp...
Cable recommendations for ESL speakers
Over at the www.martinloganowners.com forum, you'll find a dizzying array of preferred cables. For many years I used standard Blue Jeans (Belden) cables, which worked fine with my ML Summits. I've recently upgraded to Au24e's which likewise sound ...
Hi Rez digital to Benchmark DAC?
I'm feeding a Squeezebox 2 to my Benchmark DAC-1. With the latest firmware, the Classic Squeezebox and Duet models will handle 24/192 and 24/96 files by downsampling to 24/48, which, via the Benchmark, still sound significantly better than Redbook...
Noise on Eva Cassidy-Songbird CD
My version is extremely noisy as well. I always wondered if I had a bad disc. Apparently there are various quality ones out there. I wonder if we can get replacements?
