ISO Advise on choosing Ayre or Bat power amp
A friend had Aerials that were kind of power hungry.   If you can find an Ayre V1XE...they have and sound much more powerful. In any case,  Ayre uses differentially balanced circuits and sound much better with XLR balanced interconnects.
Cartridge reliability
I had a brand new Ortofon come to me wired wrong, but quickly replaced....had a few Grados with no complaints...a Koetsu with good service...In the old days, I had an ADC XLM, and Sonus Blue both fail quickly. I’ve heard bad news about Vandenhul.....
Power Conditioning / Surge Protection
Jeeeez    I tried Richard Gray and they were awful in my system.
Pass Labs x250.8 vs tube amps

I very much agree with MillCarbon....you should do it yourself....the only way to be sure it was done right.
Stupid Mistake
The body of my post didn't get posted.....this is what I saidAll of my Ayre stuff have a trickle charge going through them all the time...even when off.  They sound good at the push of the on buttons.

My neighbor had a carpenter fit a cabinet to his high ceiling with a motorized carriage that takes the tv into the cabinet when not in use.
XLR cable with warmth without losing resolution
If you're using differentially balanced components.....all XLR interconnects sound pretty much the same

What are your thoughts on the "Edsels" of the audio history?
Electrovoice speakers.....when I heard them they sounded good (12trx in homebuilt cabinet)
My thoughts on TT isolation methods.
I tried a Gingko under my VPI.....I know and like the manufacturers, but it ruined the sound of my table.  Closed in the sound in all dimensions
Room Acoustics With Vaulted Ceiling
My dedicated room is large with 16 ft ceilings.   My system sounded much better in my old house.
Amp repair cost — is this right?
It would seem fair to me....I sent out my working Ayre amp to Ayre...  was checked....new this and that (don’t remember the parts)....1250.00
