Making a CD from a cassette
dekay- Well L.A. is a bit of a drive, so..... NYC is almost 5 hrs each way too. I may dig around the local area, maybe not. We’ll see how it pans out. I'm looking into doing it myself too. Elliot and all- Received a response from ClearClick Soft...
Why Don’t You Post Your System on Your Profile?
"Why Don’t You Post Your System on Your Profile?" 1. The lighting in that room is atrocious for pictures, but it's relaxing. 2. I tried doing it anyways but never was successful following the way others said to do it. 3. The setup is all wrong....
Making a CD from a cassette
Elliott- Thank you for the advice and the link. It was easy to understand the information there. I have submitted a query to the company that makes the device. Hopefully I hear back from them tomorrow. When I do, I will post the information here. ...
How rare is an audiophile
Am I an audiophile? I don’t know. In 1990 I bought the best system I could afford. I recently had it all refurbished. It’s what I’m used to and I like the sound. It’s not that extravagant but it sounds as good or better than anybody else’s system ...
Any Thoughts?
If nature abhors a vacuum, why is most of the universe a vacuum?
Cleaning audio components with 90% isopropyl alcohol
I use a product called CRC QD Electronic Cleaner. The QD stands for Quick Drying. I like it better than alcohol because you can spray it right into RCA jacks etc. It comes with a small plastic tube so you don't spray it everywhere. I find it to b...
Help me upgrade my beginner system!
Mahler123 said: "...I wouldn’t blow any of it on a Power Conditioner. That is a frill component that if it does anything will enhance the last .05% of performance from a mega bucks system. I would look at the speakers as the biggest bang for the ...
How To Keep Cat Off Stereo Equipment?
Play something from Men Without Hats. The cat will never enter the room again. Seriously, as with any animal reward good behavior, punish the bad. Gently of course.
Speakers sounding dull? MUST READ! The truth about speaker design!
@Nonoise Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. They still sell ’em.
Does anyone know where this J. Gordon Holt comes from?
Thanks for posting the link Mike. It's too bad the gentleman has passed away. I like they way he thought.
Seriously though, maybe the best tweak is exercise?
At the other end of the listening room I have an indoor bicycle. There’s also a 24" smart TV mounted to the front of the bike. Muted Youtube videos with the tunes crankin’ is the only way to pedal!
More Bass
Even my car stereo speakers sounded better after a few weeks of using them. Like your situation, the bass was rather weak at first. Same goes for my house speakers after I had new surrounds installed. Give 'em a chance.
Why Are We Breaking Our Brains?
It IS a classic Ron. They don't make 'em like that anymore. That reminds me, my Greg Kihn Band CD should be coming in the mail.
Why do we stop listening to new music as we get older?
I simply don’t care for most of the new music. Some yes, but not most. Rather, I go back in time and listen to more and more music from BEFORE the time frame of what I like best. It’s nice to see where "my music" came from.
Why Are We Breaking Our Brains?
@ronboco  WAYYYYY off topic but... You stated "Its I’m coming Elizabeth.  Fred G Sanford. The G..." Just for the record, it's "Elizabeth! I'm coming to join you, honey..." followed by "I'll be the one with..." There were variations on the firs...
