Spendor D9.2 vs. Harbeth super hl5 plus xd + REL Stentor III vs. Spendor Classic 100?
How many people in this thread have actually heard, in person, the Spendor Classic 100?
Schumann Resonator
Scrap all these inexpensive units that will stop working within a few months, and go for gold.Or rather, go for the SteinMusic Harmonizer H2 Plus Signature, combined with 5 Blue Suns (a must). You can order now:https://www.tweekgeek.com/steinmusic-...
Spendor D9.2 vs. Harbeth super hl5 plus xd + REL Stentor III vs. Spendor Classic 100?
OP: I wouldn't describe the bass on the Classic 100 as aggressive; it is definitely present, and perhaps quite full, but no more than that.
Full circle and thinking about speakers
Conventional wisdom is to settle on the speakers you like first, and then get an amp well capable of driving them.Someone mentioned ProAc Response 2.5's a while ago.  They are phenomenal speakers, remarkable bass extension for size, really superla...

prof +1  I heard Classic 100 and D7 in same system same day; there was no comparison, the Classic was so much better on all fronts.  I heard the SLH5 in a very different space/system, and found it a little bright.  Quite unlike the 40.2's that I e...

Watch out for a used pair of any of the models of Fritz speakers.  There was a pair of Carreras on USAudioMart a day or two ago, but it's already been snapped up.
What interesting gear has been realeased since 2020?
Define "interesting".  For me it's got to go significantly beyond that latest refinement or tweaking of an existing model, which is what most manufacturers do most of the time.  It doesn't have to approach a "paradigm shift", but it needs to be si...
Puritan PSM156
Classic case of YMMV.  I've had more than one amplifier in house with a hum, but the Puritan unit is absolutely silent.  A'gon member "wig" tried Puritan against Inakustik, and kept the Puritan.  Until the Puritan became available, I would have re...
Question about audiophile DC cables
Triode Wire Labs will make up just about any kind of power cable, with whatever termination you need on each end.  He has photos of some of his one-off creations up over on AudioCircle.
A non-subjective recommendation for the Puritan PSM156
The Puritan products have received a warmer welcome over on AudioCircle.  But people are missing out; they are seriously good and undercut the price of comparable products by a significant amount.
Classical Music for Aficionados
