What is preferred/best contact cleaner these days? tvad et al I did purchase some Stabilant 22 it kit form, and understand that it should be cut with isopropyl alcohol at 3 to 1? I have yet mix it, and thus have not installed it. Any recommendations on proper coating with the Stabilant?
Tube amps under $7500 hickamore ++1 for Aric Audio, and funny I just asked Aric about XLR inputs for a friend that is going to buy one of his amps. Aric makes 2 300B amps, a 2A3 amp, a Transcend EL34 "Push Pull" (What I own) a EL34/KT88/120/150 single ended, and Supe...
Linlai E 6sn7 tubes Great customer service too, tubes arrived yesterday in less than a week. Helen reached out to me today via email after she saw the package was delivered, to make sure everything arrived safely; and let me know to contact her if anything does not w...
Anyone else order Caladans from Clayton Shaw? If anyone is interested, someone just posted a really detailed review of the Caladans on another thread on Agon titled "My Caladan Impressons".....Yes I misspelled impressions, but it is on the other thread
My Caladan Impressons Moonwatcher Some thoughts on your questions, I've had my Caladans 3 months now. You can read my full review on the "Anyone else order Caladans from Clayton Shaw?" Agon thread back in February. (1) Placement - I have played around with positionin...
My Caladan Impressons audioman58 I posted this some time ago, but here is what is in the Caladans "IsoAcoustics Gaia III feet, WBT Nextgen 0703 binding posts, Jupiter twisted pair lacquered cotton wiring, US Coils air coils, Jupiter copper foil and Dayton Audio capac...
My Caladan Impressons Wester17 Thank you for the very detailed review, and it closely mirrors a review I put up in February/March on another Caladan thread here a Agon. At the end I too, thought that my review sounded like an advertisement for Clayton's speakers.....b...
Rogue Dragon Tube Recommendations bucket91 Your budget is a bit light for the best 12AU7s, as they are disappearing fast right now; and new stock just does not seem to be coming on line. $100 each will get you better tubes; but as others have suggested, give Brent Jessee a call.....
Linlai E 6sn7 tubes Sorry if this is a dead thread, but thought it was pertinent as the current situation is the same as it was 6 months ago. There are some really good reputable Chinese suppliers of good Chinese products (at really attractive prices)......just takes...
Linlai E 6sn7 tubes Not sure of the differences between the Chinese market E-6SN7 or the Global E-6SN7, except for a huge price difference; and the Linlai's own reported differences discussed above. I purchased mine from JJY Audio, which is where several of my audio...
Power cords: does length matter? immathewj I have had two manufacturers tell me that minimum length should be 1.5 meters, but that keeping the correct length to not create a crossover with a signal component is more important. That is a 1 meter cable would be better if it would ...
The new Coda S5.5 amplifier: It's a "Petite Beast"! fthompson251 I know waiting around for new gear is no fun. I waited 3 months for my Clayton Shaw Caladans, and almost that for my Aric Audio Motherlode XL preamp. But I personally would rather wait on a unit that was in such demand that people ar...
Audiophile frame of mind Get a Traeger series 22 or 34 smoker (which you can also grill on), and you will have a whole new hobby.....and for about $700. I bought mine 2 years ago, and should have done it years earlier. I have a ton of fun learning about smoking techniques...
Could Class D really be that good? I do not run a class D amplifier, so take this with a grain of salt.....though it does apply IMO. A tube preamp (or preamp section), can mate extremely well with solid state amplifiers. I have the recently updated CODA S5.5 class A SS amplifier t... |
