$1,000 speakers for rock music?

I've been looking at the ELAC UF5's.

Is there something else in the $1,000 range that would be obviously better?

Will be used for audio only, mostly vinyl. A wide variety of music, but lots of rock for sure.

While the Elac Uni-Fi UF5 will be excellent speakers and much better sound quality than the JBL, they are rather low efficiency at only 85db and maxes out at 140 watts. --- I would give the nod to the JBL 590. The horn loaded driver is not bad and they can really pump out the volume. Ultimately, I think the Elac will sound better in the end, but if you want serious volume the 590 is pretty good.

Go listen to them. The UniFi UF5 from elac a great choice too, but very power hungry and not nearly as open and engaging as the Paradigm.
