Balanced circuits vs. placebo inputs and outputs but no balanced circuits

Quite simply, if you know anything about circuits, look inside your units to see if they are simply connectors and no real balanced circuits.....an over hyped audio B.S.  But hey, if you can do a P. T. Barnum on people and sell them stuff.....more power to you.   Many fake balanced units come with a Bearded Lady. 
ie: Balanced is in the circuits, not simply connectors.
