With the economy tanking and lots of folks dumping their stuff (or soon will be) it should be fairly easy to find 8K+ speakers for around 3K so the field is wide open to find something 'better'. I have a local guy selling me his Focus Audio FS888, less then 2 years old, retailed over 10K for $3600...sweet
VS4Jr are awesome speakers. When I bought mine I compared them to some heavy hitters. I agree with some of the posters, finding better (in their price range) doubt it, different, yes. Oh and the guy that said Vandersteen, I had the Vandersteen 2ce sig ii and the VS are IMO head and shoulders better - I found the Vandies fuzzy by comparison. Some of the other stuff listed above is OK and probabably better then the vr4 in one area or another but they each have their own faults too and most retail far above the VR4jr when new.
