Doubt about a speaker specs.

Hello to all, appreciate very much if someone can solve a bout of mine.

What exactly means the Rated Input: 40W and Music Power: 125W, about this woofer?

Music Power is how much wattage this woofer can receive before clipping?

Many thanks, best regards to all.

There is no standard measurement of power handling but the fact that the driver efficiency is relatively high means you shouldn’t need too much amplifier power to drive it without clipping.

Since most loudspeakers give you advanced warning of being overloaded ie the sound starts going south, it’s better to always play safe.

Remember the voice coil temps can get insanely hot in there and eventually things will begin to melt or burn.

Most importantly, you only have one pair of ears. They are capable of not only much pleasure but also much discomfort.

Thankfully more and more people use earplugs at certain concerts these days. OK, not these days exactly...

Here’s what you need to know about speakers. The most important spec to look for is sensitivity, sometimes called efficiency. Look for speakers rated 90dB/1w/1m or higher, or even better 95 or higher. Why? Because then you can actually find amps to drive them that will sound good.

The most important spec with amplifiers is, well there are none. It would be power. But thanks to 100 dB sensitivity speakers there are 4 watt amps that sound wonderful and so the only spec that matters with amplifiers is how they sound.

Unless you ignored the first rule and bought inefficient speakers. Then all bets are off.

So remember: >=95dB.
No info about the actual questions about what exactly means the Rated Input: 40W and Music Power: 125W, specs about this 12"inch woofer driver?

Thanks anyway for your infos, best regards.
