How many NICE looking high end floor standing speaker are there at present

Hi,
Sometimes when I dream, imagining of replacing my current 1997 Burmester 961 speakers, before maybe COVID19 is sending me to an early grave - I'm practically only stumbling on ugly often even like somehow crippled looking speaker creations.
Test will say, sounding fantastically gorgeous and - looking like 💩.
This, or par tout looking like some or other children's coffin ⚰. 😥👻

Not for the life of it, can I imagine ever having some such 'creation' invading my daily living space. Ever.

Talking 'bout a BAD WAF situation, I say.

Some makers are trying to improve on this tragic situation with creations looking far too anatomical or something alien👾 fruit thing hanging off a tree... handle an' all.

Is there no hope out there at all...? 🤔

So can one savely move on forgetting about a replacement, still in this here life, and saving the money 💰 ?

Well, the budget <= max 20k $ lets say, so I won't risk starving before the lockdown will end ever. 😱

In my old home town we'd have maybe called those Emerald Physics 'e Brettle'.
Just saying, no insult meant of course.
BTW, 'e Brettle' translates into something like 'a little board'... 😉

I'm still connected to there -- a bit.
In short, colours or what else not, they wouldn't work in any case, as I have not sufficient backwall space for dipoles.
And just to mention it again, neither for panels of any kind.
Thanks though for the suggestion. ✔️

Hi, yeah, Joseph's speakers are jolly nice.
They sure are. ✔️

Now, I'm not an FB user anymore.
Seems they don't like me to look there any more...?

Thanks also, 👍

@justmetoo I don't know why I missed your response a few months back but Audiogon just notified me about it.

Boenicke does not in my opinion sound analytical or thin. You can find some reviews online about them.

From 6moons:
" So... organic hi-rez then? Spot on. It's a perfect takeaway to remember this Boenicke by when it's time to sort out one's final speaker options."

Oh Boenike, yes.
Looking at their design I'm tempted to concede, they must be a cut above my current items - as I'm sure and as I recall, their pricing for certain as well, eh?!
My Burmesters where 'only' in the 10—15k US$ range at the time...

Alas, I'd have to relocate to my home country 🇩🇪, before those beauties could become an option.

European high-end speakers are unobtanium these days where I now live 🇿🇦, save Sonus Faber (for all I can tell).

Thankfully my Burmester 961s are still pretty well and alive, despite there age (purchased 1996 in Munich) now may be considered vintage/old... 😏

Just brought home a pair Focal Sopra 2 in Walnut. First pair of speakers my wife said she loves.

She never really though much of any of my other speakers. Magico S5 MK II and MK I, Technic SB-C700, Rethm Saadhana, Sonus Faber Guarneri Evolution, Wilson Sophia 2, Sonus Faber Cremona Auditor, Kharma CRM 3.2FE, Audio Physic Virgo, Merlin Music Systems TSM-MMe, Martin Logan Spire, Vantage, ESL and a bunch of others I can think of. She loves the Sopra's.
