Added third shelf to the Quadraspire X Reference to accommodate the Puritan Labs 156 power conditioner which had been sitting under the stand on carpet. No big deal, right? Now everything moves forward again with lower noise floor, improved sound stage and better vocal/instrument attack.
Previously, a friend experienced same, positioning the same conditioner on Quadraspire SVT stand. Stabilize your conditioner. Game on…..again.

At least more solid than my carpet. Always been a believer in quality stands, starting with Target stands decades ago. Not really valid now, but then a thing. Spoke with Kurt at Echo Audio years ago, he related a story of how an audio stand had come in and they set different things on it. It did not matter what they set on it, the sound improved markedly. They kept placing, removing and placing something else on it. It was perplexing that anything they placed on it was affected so much. Simply stunned when some have no affect at all with stands of any kind. Cheers |
